4 Stretches to Help Increase Flexibility
No matter what age we are, we would all like to be more agile, nimble, more flexible!
Being flexible is an important part of our health and wellbeing, and it is especially vital for seniors.
Of course, I am not talking about being able to do the splits or wrap a leg around your neck. I mean the type where you are unrestricted in your movements. Where you are able to move all your joints fluidly and move about with ease in your day-to-day.
Being able to do all this without feeling any pain, inflammation (opens in a new window), or stiffness in your muscles or joints is the type of flexibility I want to talk about today.
Benefits of Increased Flexibility:
The great news on this is that you can regain flexibility at any age. By improving your flexibility, you can:
- Improve your range of motion in all your joints.
- Decreases tension and stress to help give you a more relaxed body and a positive mindset.
- Fewer injuries. Once you develop strength and flexibility in your body, you’ll be able to withstand more.
- Improved posture and balance
