”Getting older is an adventure, not a problem.”
– Betty Friedman
18% of the UK’s population is over the age of 65. Getting older can come with a few physical and mobility issues that would prevent us from doing things that others may take for granted. Such as lifting and pouring a hot kettle for a cup of tea. We never think about it until we can’t or have difficulty with it.
As we age, we tend to slow down, our bodies aren’t as nimble as they once were or as quick as would like them to be. That’s ok, it doesn’t mean that we still can’t enjoy life to the fullest. Yes, it’s true, the early bird catches the worm but it is the second mouse who gets the cheese.
What do we mean by limited mobility?
Limited mobility refers to the inability of a person to use one or more of their extremities or a lack of strength to walk, grasp, grip, or lift objects. Limited mobility issues can come with age but we can also be born with them.
Just like you would use a wheelchair, crutches, or a walker, there are many tools and appliances available to help with mobility both in and outside the home. But today we want to talk about the ideal kitchen aid for those with limited mobility and strength. Our Uccello Kettle!
Uccello Kettle: Ideal for those with limited mobility
Our founder, Andy, suffered badly with his hands because of Psoriatic Arthritis. With that came pain and limited mobility. He found it near impossible to fill and lift a normal kettle for his coffee each morning.
There was nothing out there in the form of a mobility aid or kitchen aid that could make his morning routine easier, so Andy took it upon himself to create one.
And he did, we now have the Uccello Kettle. Specially designed to restore independence for those like Andy who have limited or restricted strength, mobility, and dexterity.
With our kettle, you get a kettle and a tipper in one. It has a modern design, it’s easy to use and you won’t feel any pain with its tilt to pour action.
This is why our Uccello Kettle truly is the best kettle for those with limited mobility and strength.
