Health Tips for a Healthier Lifestyle:
Count More Sheep
It may sound silly, but getting more sleep can be extremely beneficial, it allows your body and mind to recharge. A good nights sleep can leave you feeling refreshed and alert.
With a lack of sleep, we are left feeling run down, can’t concentrate and end up going for the quick food options which can have a negative effect on your health and well being over time.
If you are having trouble sleeping, why not try a hot bath or shower before bed to help you relax better and put all screens away 30 minutes before going to sleep. The reason for this is because screen keep your mind psychologically engaged, which means its harder to shut off and fall asleep.
Say No to Pain
It’s sad but for many, pain is part of their every day life. Especially for those living with arthritis, fibromyalgia and other chronic conditions. Pain should not be a part of life and if it is, it is time to talk to your GP so that they can help find the best pain management solution for you.
Pain can affect both your physical and mental health so when it strikes, let’s stamp it out fast!
Take a Break
Me-time is important! We all tend to neglect just how important it is, some see it as indulgent or unnecessary. This is untrue.
No matter how busy things are in your life, you need to make time for yourself. Whether it’s closing the door and sitting alone with your thoughts, having a long bath or watching your favourite show on TV – Me-time is important.
Doing something that makes you happy can give you a more positive outlook on life and have great benefits for your overall health and well-being.
Snack Smarter Not Harder
To be honest, there is nothing nicer than a good biscuit to dunk with a cuppa. Sadly, for every dunk, there are more and more calories that won’t help your get there to a healthier lifestyle. That’s why making a few small changes to the snacks you choose can make a big difference to how you look and feel. Why not start off small, swap out your full sugar drinks for their diet or zero versions?
Perhaps instead of a muffin for your mid morning snack, try a yoghurt with some granola. Of course, there is no guarantee that you will lose weight with this tip but you will feel better and certainly have more energy.
Catch More Sunny D
We may not get the most sun here in the UK, but when we do it’s nice to sit out and enjoy (safely of course). Catching more rays can actually be beneficial for both the mind and body. When your skin is exposed to the sun, it makes its own Vitamin D which is an important nutrient that is needed to absorb calcium for your bones and teeth. It can also help promote a healthy nervous, muscular and immune system.
Whether you sit with your feet in a basin of water in the back garden, go for a walk with the dog or even a picnic in the park, it will all help you get out in a bit of sun to create vitamin D.
